ABOUT ONE REAL VOICE

When you work with One Real Voice, you work directly with Andrew Vontz. He has made all of the mistakes that can be made as a podcast host and guest so that you don’t have to.

In the quarter century Vontz has spent as a professional communicator, he has been an executive at the social fitness unicorn Strava; a venture-backed startup founder; a prolific podcaster and podcast guest; and a journalist with bylines in dozens of outlets including The Los Angeles Times and Rolling Stone.

Between his mindfulness podcast, Choose the Hard Way, and Beyond the Peloton, the popular professional cycling podcast, Vontz has hosted hundreds of podcast episodes. He has also been a guest on numerous podcasts in his roles as an executive, a startup founder and a subject matter expert.

As an executive at Strava, Vontz designed the narrative and earned media strategy that helped the company become a household name globally; reach profitability; grow to 100 million users; and earn a valuation north of $1.5 billion.

He prepared Strava’s executives to appear on the highest profile podcasts in sport and popular culture including Rich Roll and How I Built This. He prepared Strava’s executives to appear on the highest profile podcasts in sport and popular culture including Rich Roll and How I Built This

He also prepared executives for, staffed and served as the company spokesperson for interviews with the world’s most influential media outlets including Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Le Monde, Der Spiegel and many others.

Vontz has managed national and international media crises to positive resolutions related to the pandemic, privacy, API abuse, national security, reductions in force, community backlash, data breaches, ransomware attacks, spam attacks, missing persons, violent crime, fundraising, CEO successions and other executive leadership changes.

Along the way he has learned that to be a great podcast guest or host, you have to move beyond canned talking points, cultivate presence and develop the practice of deep listening. Now he helps others cultivate these skills and thrive.

Vontz practices zen in the Plum Village tradition of Thich Nhat Hahn with the True Heart Sangha in Hope, Maine.
